Polen: A Mobile App for Pollen Monitoring
Polen, developed by Comunidad de Madrid, is a free Android mobile application that helps users monitor pollen levels in their area. The app provides the user with active location services, which allows them to check the situation of pollen collectors near their device's location, displayed in a graphical map format. Additionally, the user can receive push notifications for high levels of cypress, plane tree, grass, and olive pollen, along with other relevant information.
The app contains a map feature that shows the location of pollen collectors that collect information on pollen levels. By clicking on the icon, the user can see the levels collected in the last measurement. From January to June, the measurement is daily, and the levels collected the previous day are displayed. From July to December, the update is weekly. The app also provides daily detailed information on the type of pollen and weekly detailed information by sampling point. Lastly, there is additional information available under "Learn more about health and pollen" that links to published information on the internet.
